Lead Climbing Class
Ever wanted to climb outside? Now is the time to learn! Join us for a 4 session class where we will teach you everything from lead belaying, proper lead climbing technique, rappelling, and basic anchor building.
Note: Only those taking the class will be allowed in the climbing wall during class. No Children or Spectators
Prerequisites:
- Top-Rope Belaying Experience (Top-Rope Belaying class is offered at the Y for separate fee). – Ability to climb 5.8- Minimum Age:16

CLIMBING WALL RENTALS
Birthday parties, Scout gatherings, work retreats, etc. This package includes one hour of the climbing wall for 10 climbers as well as a multi-purpose room for your party. Call Cole at 573-761-9003 to schedule your climbing wall rental.
- Fee:
$150 for members (+ $50 for Non-Members) – for up to 10 climbers for 1 hour of climbing with 1.5 hours (concurrent with climbing) in conference room - Additional:
$5/person over 10 climber limit
Add an additional 30 minutes of climbing for $30
BELAY CERTIFICATION
Classes take approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Classes cover the equipment available for use, hot to tie a standard climbing knot (figure 8 with follow through), and safely belay a climber up and down a rock wall. Participation is required in order to climb/belay without the assitance of a climbing wall staff member. Reservations are required by emailing cberhorst@jcymca.org.

- Cost: $45 Y-member; $75 Non-member (upon completion of class, climber will receive a one-month unlimited climbing pass.
SHOE RENTAL
- Cost: Free! Just ask the staff to find a shoe right for you!
- Why use climbing? Climbing shoes grip better than tennis shoes and allows climber to stand on smaller surfaces.
- What size should I get? Foot should fill the shoe with no dead space near the toes. Shoe should be snug, but not uncomfortable when standing/walking.
