The Jefferson City Area YMCA Barracudas are ready to welcome new members for our fall/winter season beginning Sept., 3 2024. Swimmers receive stroke instruction, training techniques, daily exercise, and a great team experience! Every swimmer is a winner and no bench warmers!

Days/Times: September 3 & 5 @ 7-8 p.m. and/or September 4 & 6 @ 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Place: Knowles Y Indoor Pool, 424 Stadium
Fee: FREE-sign in on deck each day

Be a Barracuda! This team has a proud, 40 year tradition here in Jefferson City. Barracudas learn all four competitive strokes, diving off the blocks, competitive swim turns and lots more. Swimmers receive an excellent workout each day from coaches who care! Every swimmer is a winner on the Barracudas with no bench warmers! Everyone who makes the team, is part of the team!!

Practices and Meets: Practices are held each day, but swimmers attend only as many as their schedules allow. The Barracudas participate in swim competitions around the area. Swimmers select which meets they will attend as well. The team has two seasons, a fall-spring season, and a summer season. However, swimmers can join anytime! YMCA membership is required.

Try Out Criteria: If your swimmer can swim one length of the pool doing the crawl (freestyle) with some side breathing, and one length of the pool on their back, contact us to schedule a try out! For more information, see us on the web at www.jc-barracudas.com.

Team fees are $70/monthly. Enrollment Fees are $50/swimmer and are collected when the swimmer signs up.

Swim Team Prep – Register

SWIM TEAM PREP (STP) is for anyone with the goal of swimming on the YMCA Barracudas Swim Team or the Jefferson City/Capital City High School Swim Teams! Work with qualified coaches, learn the strokes, become a stronger, safer swimmer and find out what Swim Team is all about!

AGES: 7 years and up
SESSIONS:

March 2-April 13 (7 classes) – Saturday – 10-:15-11 a.m. – Knowles Y
June 4-27 – Tuesday & Thursday – 8-9 a.m. – Firley Y
July 2-30 – Tuesday & Thursday – 8-9 a.m. (no class July 4) – Firley Y
September 7-November 2 – Saturday – 10:15-11 a.m. (no class October 19) Knowles Y

FEE: $40 Y-member; $60 Non-member
LIMIT: 12 swimmers
